    2. Jim - I just happened to have all the Dudleys from the 1820 thru 1850 census already typed up from a message to another Dudley researcher before Madison County List existed. Here it my e-mail to her: When I first started out researching my family - the family story was "we came from Madison Co - always been there" - Well it didn't take long to find out that wasn't true. But not before I had gone out and bought a printed copy of the 1820/1830/1840/1850 Madison Co Census - none of which includes my family. But it does include YOURS. It appears they've "always been there." I'm thrilled to finally get some use out of these censuses (what IS the plural for census?) He was in Elbert Co., GA for the 1820 & 1830 censuses, then in Madison Co., for the 1840 & 1850 censuses, and then in Greene Co., GA for the 1860 & 1870 censuses. He was married to Martha DAVIS. His son, William Greene LANGSTON was my gg grandfather, b. 16 Apr 1816, Danielsville, Madison Co., GA; died 29 Apr 1868, buried Penfield Cemetery, Penfield, Greene Co., GA. He was married to Frances Matilda (Fanny) POLK daughter of Ezekiel POLK and Malissa Elizabeth (Betsy) PHILLIPS. William Greene Langston & Fanny POLK were married about 1839 unknown county.     3. I found a book that has my Great Grandfather listed in it as a Tax Collector from 1891 to 1896 and in 1917(which was the year he died) in Madison Co., GA. His name was E.F. Martin. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to find some sort of documentation on this(or if someone can help me). I am looking for the parents of Ewell Martin - he married Miriam ?. Ewell was born in Virginia from what I have been told. They(Ewell and Miriam) had a son named Erwin F(rank) Martin who was married 3 times.
