Good evening everyone. I wanted to stop in and make an announcement. Macon County Georgia UsGenWeb site will no longer be using Rootsweb/ancestory.com query boards. This will be in several phases Phase one is that we will be using a different query system at Genealogy.com http://genforum.genealogy.com/ga/macon/ This will be until I can set up a system that all the queries can and will be kept on the Macon page. I have requested help from other CC's that do not use RW or Genforum to tell me how they handle their Obits, queries, pensions, bibles, etc. Some of you had experssed that you did not want the mail list linked from the message boards for many reasons one being that they had a limited space for their emails and their messages would bounce. For this reason you will have to join (free) and then click on the box to be notified when there are updates to the messages. I think that it is better to allow you to elect to get the update messages by joining and those that do not want the messages are free to not have their mail boxes filled with unwanted information. As I said this may just be temporary since I plan on keeping all the information on the page as soon as I can get a system set up that will do that.
