He states he enlisted in the Home guards at Albany, Ga, August the 4th 1864 and was transferred to the 10th Georgia Militia stationed at Atlanta, Ga. Subsequently in November 1864, He joined Lawtons Calvary and did Courier service until the end of the War. In another statement, he states that he enlisted August 4, 1864 in Co. G or F, 10th Ga Reserves, from Worth Co. Ga, under the thought Col. Baxtell, and served to end of war, in Gen. Hood's Division, most of the time as Courier. Also in another statement he states that he was transferred to 4th Ga Cav (Lawtons Co and Alex Billingsley, Capt)
