May 13, 1910 > GOOD WOMAN PASSES AWAY - The entire community was greatly shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Rebecca Lester, at her home last Thursday morning. She had been sick with bronchitis about two weeks, which seemed to yield to treatment but a heart affection had so weakened her constitutiobn, that when the summons came, she passed away gently and without pain. > The early life of Mrs. Lester, as Miss Pitts, was spent in Houston County, near Elko and at her marriage to Mr. C. M. Lester, a prominent planter, Elko became her home. After her husband's death, twenty years ago, she moved to Marshallville. > She leaves two sons and one daughter, Messrs. Wm. E. Lester and J. T. Lester and Mrs. Lewis Clewis, all of Marshallville, and several grandchildren, James, Florence, Annie Wade Lester and Lewis Lester Clewis. To these she leaves the priceless heritage of a beautiful Christian character to grow sweeter in memory as years go by. > [Note: Rebecca Pitts Lester - Born February 14, 1838 - Died May 10, 1910 is buried in Elko Cemetery beside her husband, C. M. Lester [ May 7, 1832 - Dec. 16, 1890]. > > > This is an automatically-generated notice. > > <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/MaconObits?admin> > >
