GALLAHER KILLED - A sad accident happened at Mr. Martin Brooks' store, one and a half miles west of Ideal, last Tuesday evening. Mr. C. D. Gallaher, a prominent wholesale grocer of Montezuma, while driving a pair of ponies from the Ideal livery stable, in some way lost control of them after they had become frightened, and as he attempted to jump from the buggy, his coat got hung and threw him to the ground with such force his skull was fractured and he died at four o'clock Wednesday evening. > It was Mr. Gallaher's custom to go to Ideal and there secure a team to call on the surrounding country stores. He always preferred the same team that he was driving Tuesday. The ponies were considered exceptionally gentle, and Mr. Gallaher was a very careful man.
