I added the dates & places. SMITH* 30 May 1876 Taylor Co GA m. 4th Mary Lucy ALLMAN 01 Nov 1877 Taylor Co GA * I'm not sure if 2nd & 3rd were marriages of our William Riley Shepherd (13 Jan 1831-23 Jan 1893 s/o Laban & Lavicy SHEPHERD). If the death date is correct, 1st wife, Lucretia, died May 1868. Source: Margie FULLERTON <MKFULLERTON@worldnet.att.net>. I have NOT seen the original marriage records, something that needs to be done to determine if in fact our William m. 4x or only 2x. If he m only 2x- then we have the question as to who was the other W R SHEPHERD. FWIW, in the Essie's book, p. 62 there is also a marriage: SHEPARD, Wiley B. to BELL, Mary M. 8-8-1858 by E.H. Wilson, MG. On p. 127, 18 Yes, I have thought, too, that the children *may* be of William Riley SHEPHERD (13 Jan 1831-23 Jan 1893). But did not think they could be by a third wife, Sally SMITH, as she would have been replaced by 4th wife, Mary Lucy ALLMON in 1877 and would only have been married to William May 1876-Nov 1877 - thus in 1884 William would have been married to 4th wife, Mary Lucy ALLMAN, when both these children were born. So, *if* these are indeed William's children, they would be by 4th wife[ 2nd], Mary Lucy ALLMAN/ALLMON. Nadine
