We are updating our Marshallville Veterans Monument which any person having been BORN IN, LIVED IN, or DIED IN Marshallville, along with $20.00 for engraving, is entitled to be placed on this Monument. My scanner is not connected today, but will be soon so that I can show you the Monument. It is located directly across in front of what is now, the Marshallville Public Library and Club House. It was in the 1850's, Dr. William Hafer's "Dwelling House with Out Buildings with a Store House, now occupied by William Hafer Shoe Shop, Doctor's Officew, Stable." This is all according to Deed Book A of Macon Co., Ga. Pg. 704 where on October 1, 1859, he sells to Conrad Murph. I do not find him as being connected with any Military Unit that I have access to.
