His third child by Carrie Magdalene Dunkin was Arthur William Holmes, born 11 Nov 1892. Arthur William Holmes is my great grandfather. Arthur was born and lived in Talladega, Alabama, where he fathered 14 children. He moved to Georgia and remarried, fathering another 14 children. the only information I have about Benjamin Franklin Holmes is that his father Warren was from South Carolina and his mother Emlie James was from Georgia. BFH was born in or near Cartersville or Aragon, Georgia. His first wife Martha Childers, i have been told that she was killed along with one or more of her children in an Indian attack at Mt Cheaha in Alabama. I have also been told that Jesse James was her first cousin. I have BFH's mother Emlie James as having two brothers, named Reedy and Jack. I don't know if I have helped you or not, but I would definitely like to be in contact with you about the Holmes family.
