He had a son Herbert Holmes Hafer, a grandson W. H. Hafer of Marshallville, and a great grandson Harris Hafer of Fort Valley (see obits this list). William b 1821 PA was a brother to my great-grf Harrison Hafer. Wm Hafer b 1821 was a Mason (emblem on tombstone). He may have been the Wm. Hafer from Marshallville that was a lieutenant in the Confederate army. How can I check further into his background?
