DEATH AND OBITUARY NOTICES FROM THE SOUTHERN CHRISTIAN ADVOCATE 1867-1878 Issue of January 22, 1869 Mrs. Rebecca Russell, whose maiden name was Rebecca Furman, was born April 15th 1793 in Charleston, S. C. Her father was Captain Josiah Furman, who served under Gen. Marion in the American Revolution. He having died in 1800, she became a member of the family of Capt. Thos Baker, whose wife was her cousin, and the daughter of Dr. Richard Furman, who was for many years the pastor of a Baptist Church in Charleston. In 1816 she was married to Joseph A. Russel, who died in 1833. died on a visit with Bro. R. F. Baldwin at Marshallville, Macon Co., Ga., 19th December 1868. Thomas B. Russell --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
