Campbell Post Reply | Mark Unread | Report Abuse Print Message Sorry, I gave you the wrong date. 1918 was the incorrect date of his death used for years by family members and hand written across the top of the newspaper clipping. Does not appear to be an obituary as such, but rather news articles from two newspapers. (I guessed one in Oglethorpe and one in Montezuma.) I hope that there is an obituary somewhere. He died March 18, 1920 in Waukeenah, FL. Wife Leathia and sons had not moved from Macon County. Have copy of letter addressed to his wife written about two days before he was killed by a falling tree limb while clearing land at the church or their new home. Only two very young daughters and illiterate helper with him, who gave wrong information for death certificate which took me a year to locate in Florida vital records. Think he accepted the pastorate of a 5 church Methodist circuit in January, 1920 for area around Waukeenah (Tallahassee area). Have copies of letters relating to this from Methodist church. Was living around Dadeville, Alabama in 1907. Not sure when they moved to Georgia. Heard there was no marker on his grave. Other family members buried there according to family records: Leathia Guthrie Walls - 1946 (wife), Willie Vinson Brantley (son-in-law) 1927, Albert F. Walls (son) 1935, William Wesley Brantley 1918 (2 year old grandchild), Helen Brantley 1919 (1 year old grandchild), and on the maternal side of the family, Amos A. Forehand 1980. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of any of this information. Thank you for your response. Will be happy to send copies of anything that might be of use. I appreciate any help very much. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.462 / Virus Database: 261 - Release Date: 3/13/2003
