Lewis of Montezuma, died last Sunday morning between Oglethorpe and Montezuma, nearly opposite the Montezuma Fertilizer works. He left home Sunday morning with a party of friends for an automobile ride. Mr. Lewis was thinking of purchasing an automobile for the purpose of carrying the mails on his route, and was just speaking of this when Mr. Tom Lee Easterlin, who sat on the rear seat with him, noticed Mr. Lewis throw up his hands and fell against him. Mr. O. H. DeVaughn, who owned the car and was driving, stopped the car as soon as possible to attend the stricken man, but they found Mr. Lewis was dead, he passed away without a sound or struggle. > Mr. Lewis was 65 years old and had lived in this immediate section quite a number of years.
