For a month he had been very ill, for ten days the end was expected at any hour, and on Tuesday afternoon at 12:25, he fell asleep as quietly as a little child. > Maj. Dixon was a native of this county, and was for many years a resident of this town. He was a member of the Twelfth Georgia Regiment, which served so valiantly under Gen. Stonewall Jackson in the war between the States, and was an active member of Camp Hardee. > The pallbearers were veterans, Maj. T. A. Hamilton, Capt. J. T. Wade, Capt. W. E. Yancey, Capt. R. M. Vance, Capt. B. R. Bize, the officiating minister was Rev.
