May 2, 1900 > "TOWN TOPICS" - A sad death occurred in Montezuma, Monday, when Mrs. Elvira Epting, an aged lady, breathed her last. Mrs. Epting had long been feeble and bowed down by the weight of years was not strong enough to prolong the struggle. She died at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. John H. Claxton, and was buried at Montezuma, surrounded by a concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. She leaves a number of children and grandchildren to mourn. Mrs. Epting was one of the pioneers of the county, settling here with her husband, Mr. William Epting in 1850. She has resided here ever since and as a consistent member of the Methodist Church ever lived a life of Godliness and purity. > [Note: Elvira, wife of William Epting - Born January 18, 1812 - Died April 28, 1900 is buried in Felton Cemetery beside her husband, William C. Epting [May 1806 - Sept. 1881]. > > > This is an automatically-generated notice. > > <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/MaconObits?admin> > >
