Macon County Citizen - Oglethorpe, Ga. April 12, 1929 FUNERAL SERVICES FOR C. D. ELMORE - Funeral services for Carl D. Elmore, 47 whose death occurred at his home in Augusta Friday evening were held from the residence of his sisters, Mrs. T. C. Powers and Miss Fannie Elmore, here Sunday afternoon. Mr. Elmore was born and reared here. Early in life, after finishing school at Newberry, S.C. he entered the Postal Railway Service and three years later resigned his position to become connected with the Southern Express Co. Much - not copied Surviving are his widow, who before her marriage was, Miss Georgia Hair of Buena Vista; one brother, Eugene E. Elmore of Atlanta; four sisters, Mrs. W. M. English of Quitman, Ga., Mrs. C. T. Harden, Mrs. T. C. Powers and Miss Fannie Elmore, all of this point. Interment was in Oglethorpe Cemetery. [Note: Carl Dana Elmore - Born February 24, 1881 - Died April 5, 1929 is buried in Oglethorpe Cemetery beside his wife, Georgia Hair Elmore [1886 - 1964]
