    3. Made Up Family I have been working with Macon Co. Ga. records, the last two days... And the Barfield's, Dixon's and Hill's- trying to piece together the many around. It is not established that my husband's Archibald=and Slaughter are brothers. (Court document of Slaughter) and that Archibald's wife was Samantha "Martha" Barfield...(Son Preserved Barfield's death certificate in 1923) And the Dixon's married into my Underwood's as did Josiah Hill..(Api) and there was an earlier Api-Barfield dtr. of Barrett, as I think Samantha "Martha" was..of his 22 children- by one wife. (Poor LADY!) It has also been established that Archibald and Slaughter were from Robeson Co. NC. In looking for clues to the other early ones-John, named a son Slaughter, and was born NC- 1850 Census- in 1788. >From the proven birth dates on some of his children we learn he was still in NC in 1824. >From Slaughter's we learn he was in Macon Co. by 1829 >From Archibald's we learn he was in Roberson Co NC still 1829 Still there 1829? And in Marion Co. records 1830- 1838 Macon Co. Tax list-w/John , Whitmell, Josiah, Jesse, Wiley, John Jr., Moses 1840 Census: #81 Archibald 30-40 (He is not in index, but in census) children all ages (And only two show up in 1830-when 3 show up in other records one boy, one girl-w/male left out) #82 Burwell T.
