    3. Zane Jacobson: There is NOT a marked grave in Macon County for McDaniel Page. If he died in 1839, I would like to give you the land lots that he owned in the 1838 Tax Digest of Macon County. He very likely is buried in a Family Cemetery, possibly even abandoned, on one of the land lots that he owned. 1838 Tax Digest Macon Co., Ga. 1 Poll - No slaves 54 acres Swamp in Land Lot 115/1st Dist. Macon Co. 506 & 3/4 acres Pine which included Lot 147/1st Macon Co., Ga. [Note: each lot = 202 & 1/2 acres so 506 would be 2 & 1/2 land lots] 202 & 1/2 acres Pine - Land Lot 33/13 Dist. His first wife was Winnifred Bryan (sister of my ancestor) and they had several children but I don't show a Giles. There was another Bluett McCarty in Macon Co. for a time but I'm don't know what his connection was to this Bluett. Perhaps Giles is from that line. In an old letter it mentions that Bluett & Ellen went to Crawford Co. I haven't tried to track them down there but it would be a place to start. Winnie was buried at the McCarty Garden cemetery but it's not marked and the land is just treated as ordinary farm land now. I'd be happy to send you what I have.

    1. [GAMACON] Rousseau
    2. Crilley
    3. We have a Travis Rousseau in the Taylor Co GA 1860 Census as an overseer age 35. That's the only census he is listed in. He was living in the Panhandle District which is the NE corner....and the Crowell Agency Land was also in that District. This is right across the River from where the Indian Agents lived (I think)... http://www.rootsweb.com/~gataylor/oldagency.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ga/taylor.htm#search Type in Rousseau on this page, and you'll find several others listed in not only Taylor, but other nearby counties. I know from the transcribing that I do, that there are a number of Afri-American Rousseaus in Taylor County, and they probably were connected with the plantation. You'll see the listing on the 1860 Slave Schedule there also....Taylor which lists Travis Rousseau. This listing is a companion to the 1860 Census, and you'll find the neighbors are the same. Good Luck...and hope this helps. Virginia Crilley
