I only remember we counted telephone poles, parked and walked into the woods 100 ft or so and there was a small wrought iron fenced area about 15' x 15' which pier-type granite gravemarkers there. I remember Joseph Athon dob 1794(?) and deceased 1872; martha v.(maybe T) and two others I thought were for absolom and cincinnatus. I am trying to get information from the family of Harry L. Nelson from the Jacksonville area as he was doing all the family history then. He is deceased now so not much luck yet. As I can, I will update this info for you.

The couple was in Crawford by 1850, and by 1860 he had left his wife and 10 children and moved to Monroe 1860. By 1870 he was in Macon Co., and died there 29 Mar. 1888 Grangerville, Macon, Ga. In 1969, we had a family reunion, Athon, in ellaville, ga, about 100 people. While there Refus took us to his hog farm and out in the country to an old iron gated gravesite, and in the enclosed area was the graves of joseph and Martha T (Grant) Athon and I believe Martha V is also buried there. As I recall, there were 4 gravesites. Joseph & Martha came from Surry, NC where they were married Oct. 16, 1832 with the bondsman name J.G. Pettit. I got this info from the family search library. I will provide more info that I have but for now mainly wanted to make contact since I have to get up early in the am. Let me hear from you. take care

He was 22 months old, died, June 7, 1946 and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Stafford of Oglethorpe. Your uncle, Eugene Stafford, if this is the same one, could have re-married after his young wife, Wynelle English Stafford died in 1933. Gene Arthur Stafford, father of Thomas Frederick Stafford was born October 27, 1906 and died April 28, 1983 and is buried in Oglethorpe Cemetery in Macon Co., Ga. GOOD LUCK

In the Mark Anthony-Isabella Hart line, these keep coming together. I am particularly seeking the parents and their children, of Mary Jane Hills, who married William Bryant Anthony, in Haskell, TX on 1 Sep 1886. They were married in a double wedding with Judge J.D.Long and Addie Rogers. Mary Jane Hills was born about 1861 in Nashville, TN. There were several brothers and sisters-- of which she was supposed to be the oldest. Of the one sister, of which I'm aware, Ethel Hills was married to Virgil W. Meadors. They lived at 1603 Van Buren in Amarillo, TX in August 1895.(shown on a probate record of births not previously recorded) I think there was also an uncle Edwin. My grandfather, W.B. was born in Caldwell, TX and somehow moved at some time to Haskell, TX. His mother, Mary A.E."Mollie" Green Anthony, re-married Michael B. Hill(another Hill), after my ggrandfather, Joseph Clark Anthony, died during the Civil War. (That's another search for parents i'm still trying to complete) Do any of these names seem familiar?
