Davine, just a thought--my grandfather in Arkansas was called "Accie", but his name was really ASA. By the way, in re-reading some of your archived information for me re: the BRIDGES in Macon Co., I have discovered that Lucinda, dau. Of Thos. BRIDGES, married John W. Berry. They apparantly moved to Terrell Co after 1860, where he enlisted in the 13th GA. Inf, Co. H. Their children were Edgar C. Berry, Sarah, Florence, Arra, and Homer Berry. I had never hear of this book. By the way, the Payne family is related to a Rousseau family starting inS.C., Va. Hilliare Rousseau. This was in the early 1700's. If you check in the Va., S.C. records, it seems many of the families migrated to Ga. If you can get back to about 1795, I believe that is when the Paynes married in. The William Felton Cemetery was moved from the it's original place to the Marshallville Cemetery. I have been to the site of the Turner Place. It is located west of Ideal and the Turner Cemetery is located at the site. It is located on a dirt road that leads from Ideal to Southland. I am not familiar with the Douglas Place, but I feel sure that Davine Campbell will fill this in at a later date.

Will try again. My family also came from Macon, Ga. in the late 1600's thru learly 1818. My family of Rousseau/Duriso,Durouzeaux,Deerisaw,Dearisaw, among the many ways it has peen spelled. My family licludes Richard Deen/dean. I am searching for Micajah Dean who married Rhoda Hinson and they had a daughter Mary Ann Dean who married the only child of William Henry Rousseau, b. 9 March 1818. We believe his father to have been John Lewis Rousseau who married (Mary Carter?) Much info is available on the Indians in the Georgia area, but not all in one place. You will have to search "Native American", Creek Indians, etc to find any info. I have a great deal on Daniel Durouzeaux who married "a Creek Indian woman". Also my Dean/Deen line married into the Indian culture. Good luck!! If you find anything on my line. As you said, I am very proud of my French and Indian Heritage.
