In the book "History of Lowndes County Georgia, 1825-1941", page 113-114 states........ "The Cat Creek Church, located at Cat Creek, Georgia, was constituted on June 29, 1867, with five charter members, which has increased in the years to something near one hundred. The charter members were Mr. and Mrs. Wm, B Davis, Mr and Mrs Owen Gibson and John I Martin. The names of those constituting the Presbytery are not obtainable, but the pastors serving the church since it's constitution are Elders A.A. Knight; J.L. Harris; T.W. Stallings and Ansel Parrish. The deacons are R.H. Knight; Thomas Banks; George A Fiveash; I.W. Peters; B.S. Stalvey and P.H. Gaskins. And the clerks are W.C. Martin; E.L. Moore; J.A. Johnson and W.E. Redding." George A Fiveash, above, is my great grandfather. The book was first published in 1942 and I have the reprinted version from 1995. It is published by the General James Jackson Chapter, D.A.R.; Valdosta, Georgia. I'm not sure if this helps, but it may give you some leads on the Gibson line. Regards, Nancy
