We do know that our William Franklin Rountree who resided in Valdosta, was not born there, he was born in Effingham County, Georgia. His brothers were Cornelius Green and Bonaparte Rountree b. in the 1850's in Effingham. Via my great-grandfather Cornelius' will we also know that the parents of these boys had land right here in same county. Backtracking the old land records now to try and obtain their parents names. Thanks for the Johnson County idea. Open to any suggestions. I believe that until we find some names, we are going to stuck here!
