Surnames: SWINK & BLACK Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/jc.2ADI/567 Message Board Post: To whomever might read this: I am searching for my husbands BLACK & SWINK surname. In the last 3 weeks, I have found out that his g.g.grandfather was a Sam Black. So I called the Comanche County Public Library. The Genealogy Librarian was very helpful. She found them in an 1880 Comanche County, TX census. There was a Sam Black and an Ellen Swink both born in Georgia. Sam was 27 years old and Ellen was 23 years old then. It said Sam's parents were both born in North Carolina. So today, I did a search for all Swinks in the U.S.of A. From that I found 9 Swinks in Georgia. I found in your county and his name was: Benny Swink born Dec. 29, 1922 in Lowndes County, GA. So I was wondering if somebody could do a look-up for me and see if you find an Ellen Swink born about 1857 in your county. Also could you see if you find a Sam Black born about 1853 in your county. I sure would appreciate any clues or suggestions as to where or what I should do next cause I am totally unfamiliar with your lovely s! tate. Thanks
