Somewhere in the minutes of East Fork Baptist Church, there was a church "discussion" on the marital status of William Galloway and Hannah Powell. There is also a court case in Henderson County on same. Several years ago I searched the basement of the Henderson Co. Courthouse and obtained a copy of what little records that remained. The final verdict was that Hannah and William were not guilty because they were married. According to my research, Robert Galloway was their only child. The 3 other children listed were Powell children who belonged to Hannah. Was Hannah married to a Powell? Or was she a poor Miss Powell who couldn't afford a husband all her own?
