Hello, I just joined this mailing list and also just started to search for my ancestors. I have noticed already that most of the subject matter seems to be on Galloway ancestors from the traditional Southern states. My Galloway ancestors are from Wakarusa and LaGrange Indiana. I was hoping I would find a connection since most of the homework seems to have been already done on the Southern Galloway. Here is what I have: William H. H. Galloway (no birth, location or death statistics yet) Married (no date) Eliza (Iman) Galloway (no birth, location or death statistics yet) Their Son Charles R. Galloway born Oct 2nd, 1870 LaGrange, Indiana Married on August 11, 1901 in Wakarusa Lucy (Holdeman) Galloway, born Nov 24, 1869 My source: "Holdeman Descendants" by Edwin L. Weaver published at E. V. Publishing House in Nappanee, Indiana 1937. This book contains almost complete information on the Holdeman lineage in America. Anyone have a match? jspulaski1@fedex.com or james.pulaski@worldnet.att.net -----Original Message----- From: Linda Hoxit Raxter [mailto:lraxter%CITCOM.NET@internet.fedex.com] Sent: Monday, June 15, 1998 12:48 PM To: GALLOWAY-L%rootsweb.com@internet.fedex.com Subject: John Monroe Galloway I briefly visited Old Shooting Creek Cemetery yesterday. John Monroe Galloway (03MAR1822-23APR1888) had an intersting note on his marker "Joined Bapt Church May 1842". I was just updating my gedcom when I noticed a note that he also happened to marry his wife Jane Glazener in 1842. Possible requirement for marriage? Amazing what a man will do for love. Does anyone have an exact marriage date for the happy, now Baptist, couple? -- Linda Hoxit Raxter lraxter@citcom.net See Indexed Western North Carolina Cemetery Surveys http://www.geocities.com/~alextreehouse related to at least half the county - at least once ; ) ==== GALLOWAY Mailing List ==== Indexed WNC Cemetery Surveys (Galloways Galore) Visit Alexandra's Family Tree House http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Forum/7150
