Double Branches is now the name of a church/cemetery, and I suspect and long defunct community, near Lincolnton. The cemetery is still in use. I believe some of it was moved when a dam backed up the river and expanded its banks into part of the original. It is very close at least. It has been a number of years since we visited and photographed the stones of my husband's ancestors who are buried there. His great grandparents were married at Double Branches in 1890.
