Okay, Lincoln Co is driving me CRAZY!!! Dilemma #1 - Rev. Pleasant F. Burgess married Nancy E. Tyler on 01 Jan 1857 and then she died shortly thereafter. I am trying to figure out who Nancy's parents were. Pleasant was the administrator of James Tyler's will so I am thinking that Nancy is his daughter. James Tyler did have a daughter named Elizabeth born abt. 1836. So are Nancy E. and Elizabeth one and the same? I think so but I can't prove it. Dilemma #2 - William A. Burgess married Mary E. Tyler 28 Jun 1858. I don't know where either of these fit in. Is William a brother to Pleasant? Mary E. Tyler.... who knows! James Tyler didn't have a daughter named Mary. BUT, there was a daughter named Redora [?] born abt. 1835. Could that be Eudora? That is a possible name and then maybe Mary E. and Eudora are one and the same [yeah, yeah, I know, this one is a little more far fetched] Dilemma #3 - Wiley J. Spires married Martha G. Houghton on 10 Sep 1865. I can't figure out who Martha belongs to. She should be with her parents in 1850 and 1860 but I can't find her in the census. I have a will for an Elizabeth Houghton dated 10 Jul 1857. She names son William Michael Houghton and daughter Eleanor Elizabeth Parks, wife of William C. Parks. I am sure Martha ties in but how? She probably isn't Elizabeth's daughter since she isn't named. One the 1870 census we have... Wily J. Spires, age 45, male, white, farmer, value of real estate $400, value of personal estate $600, born in GA Martha E. Spires, age 26, female, white, keeping house, born in GA Robert L. Spires, age 3, male, white, born in GA Mary Haughton [possible middle initial of A or N. . It is unreadable to this compiler] age 66, female, white, at home, born in GA So it appears that Mary is Martha's mother. DOES ANYONE KNOW THESE PEOPLE SO THAT I DON'T LOSE MY MIND?
