    1. [GALINCOL] GLAZE in Lincoln County
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: mdbosco Surnames: GLAZE Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.lincoln/1212/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am seeking GLAZE kin that can give me family background info. I have hit a brick wall with regard to Susan Glaze and what happened to her. I have also done a fair amount of research with other ancestors (some back to 1500s), but would welcome confirming info from valid kin. My G-Grandmother was Susan Glaze. She was the oldest child/daughter of Houston Glaze and Mary Jane Parks Glaze. Susan was born in 1862, and married John Kauffman Gresham sometime around 1882, although dates seem to be slightly uncertain. They had three sons (George, Fred, Otis) who were born between 1882-1888). My big problem is, I cannot find any date of Susan's death or where she is buried. I know from family lore and the 1900 Census that by 1900 all 3 of her sons had been shipped back to GA to live with relatives, while JK Gresham remained in TX, working as a hired hand and living in a rented room. I am assuming from this info that Susan died somewhere between 1889-1899. JK Gresham died in 1907 and is buried in Good Hope Cemetery in TX. I was just there this past Monday and have photographed his grave. I know SOME of this biographical info via my mother, Fred (the middle son's) daughter, and also as supported by Fred's older brother George, Susan's oldest son, who lived with us for a time when I was a pre-teen and told me some of the family stories. I know there was a distant cousin of my mother's, Frank Glaze, who lived in the Augusta area somewhere around 1970-1990. My mother visited there at least twice during that time period and was able to get a great deal of info. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate her research, so need to locate it through other sources. Hoping someone can help, or point me towards local kin that I know I still have in the area.
