The 1890 census was destroyed by fire in Washington DC. There is no information for that census. Sometimes info can be found in wills and land records. Liz Nash 1. Houston5 Glaze (Thomas4, Thomas3, Benjamin2, John1) was born 06 Feb 1825 in Lincoln County, Ga, and died 12 Aug 1898 in Lincoln County, Ga. He married Mary Jane Parks 25 Jun 1860 in Lincoln County, GA. She was born 16 Feb 1843, and died 28 Feb 1921 in Lincoln County, Ga. Notes for Houston Glaze: Date of birth and death taken from his tombstone. Houston Glaze served in Co. G, 15 GA, CSA, date of entry 1862. He is on the 1850 Lincoln County census as 23 years of age and an overseer in the home of John Zellars and Mary Hugheley Zellars. His age based on his date of birth on this tombstone would be 25. Houston Glaze is listed in the 1880 Lincoln County census along with his wife, Mary Jane Parks. Children are given as; Susan age 18, Louis age 16, Hattie age 14, Fannie age 12, Annie age 10, Jackson age 8, Thomas age 6, Lavina age 4, Alexander age 3. Also in his household is his father Thomas, age 77. Children of Houston Glaze and Mary Parks are: 2 i. Hattie6 Glaze, born 10 Mar 1861 in Lincoln County, Ga; died 1927 in Lincoln County, Ga. 3 ii. Susan Glaze II, born 18 May 1862. 4 iii. Louis Glaze, born 10 Nov 1863. 5 iv. Fannie Glaze, born 1868. 6 v. Annie Glaze, born 1869. 7 vi. Jackson J. Glaze, born 23 Jan 1872 in Lincoln County, Ga; died 14 Apr 1940 in Lincoln County, Ga. 8 vii. Thomas D. Glaze, born 1874 in Lincoln County, Ga; died 1955 in Lincoln County, Ga. 9 viii. Lavinia Glaze, born 23 Jul 1876 in Lincoln County, Ga; died 01 Jan 1969 in Lincoln County, Ga. Notes for Lavinia Glaze: Funeral services for Miss Lavina Glaze, 92 years of age, were held Thursday at Lincolnton Baptist Church. The Rev. M.B. Lamb and Rev. Lee Buice officiated; burial was in the Lincolnton cemetery. Miss Glaze died at her residence in Lincolnton Wednesday morning following an extended illness. She was the oldest member of Lincolnton Baptist Church; Lifelong resident of Lincolnton, GA. Daughter of the late Houston and Mary Jane Parks Glaze. Lucy Bell Glaze, born 11 Jul 1885 in Lincoln County, Ga; died 14 Sep 1971 in Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington, GA. Notes for Lucy Bell Glaze: Miss Lucy Bell Glaze, 86, died Tuesday at Wills Memorial Nursing Center in Washington after an illness of a few weeks. Miss Glaze was born in Lincoln Co.; daughter of Houston and Mary Janie Parks Glaze. She lived in Lincoln Co. most of her life but made her home in Cleveland, Ohio for a number of years.
