Jack, The old Dallas home which dates back to the 1790s is still standing in the Graball community of Lincoln County, Georgia and is presently owned by the Bufford family. If you can find a copy of Robert Willingham's book "We Have This Heritage" which is a history of early Wilkes County (Lincoln County was formed from Wilkes County in the 1790s) there is a picture of the Dallas home in the book before it was remodeled. This is of great interest. Do tell me of it. Since the Anderson Grist mill is for sale. I yern to know, of the days before, of the earliest days of Wilkes. Tell about the Germans.. Tell about the Catchings, and kin of the elite that founded Georgia. That is the tale. Many came from Granville, and farther back from Maryland, and took haven in Shennandoah Valley of the West Virgina Mountains. Not just Virginia.
