Nimrod Arrant, his wife and eight (8) children were listed on the 1830 Federal Census for Lincoln County Georgia; after this they vanished, and I have not been able to find them. Nimrod was born abt 1780 in Kershaw County SC to William and Elizabeth Arrant. He moved to Lincoln County about 1790, and was married sometime after 1803. I have not been able to find a marriage record, therefore, I have no idea what his wife's name is. Nimrod applied for a land grant in 1803 as a single man. There are records of his owning land in Lincoln County, and he appears on several tax records. There is a record that he sold some land in 1831, this could mean that he was getting ready to leave Lincoln County. This probably means nothing, but there is a newspaper item that indicates that he had a letter waiting for him at the Columbus Georgia Post Office at the end of 1839.
