Good Morning Folks, My great grandmother Mamie J. Matthews married my great grandfather George P. Norman in Lincoln County on December 22, 1889. Mamie J. Matthews was born March 7, 1867 and died March 12, 1925. Since George P. traveled to Lincoln County from Hart County for the wedding I assumed that Mamie was an inhabitant of Lincoln. I have searched the Census records for Wilkes, Oglethorpe, Elbert, Hart and surrounding areas but can only find a Mary J. Matthews (sometimes spelled Mathews) in the 1870 and 1880 Census for Lincoln County with father John W. Matthews. I am trying to find out if Mamie J. Matthews is Mary J. Matthews or any other information regarding Mamie J. Matthews. Any information would be most appreciated. Thanks, Barron
