The first married record that I can find in the census is 1850. They are both listed with the following children: Thomas - 16 Frances = 14 Marion - 12 Lafayett - 12 Jasper = 8 Wilks = 5 Isaac - 1 On the 1860 census, I cannot find Richard, but I do find Matilda with another Richard (who is listed as 29) being the head of household. It seems that the 1860 census is tricky (and maybe someone can clarify) because Richard, Matilda, Marion and Lafayett are in another district on the census) and on the next page of the census, which starts a new district, the following are listed: Francis = 20 Jasper - 18 Newton - 16 Wilkes - 12 Moragne = 11 Reuben - 8 George - 7 Again, on the 1870 census, Richard is not listed, but Matilda is listed with these children: Wilkes - 21 Mariah - 18 George = 13 Frances =- 28 Can anyone clarify that these are the same people (even though some of the ages just don't match up)? I'm specifically researching the line of Morange Goldman and I'm hoping that if the census records can be clarified, then I can determine that he is my gg grandfather. Also, were Marion and Lafayett twins? Any help is appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
