Hello to the List, In answer to Carol Cox question on the lineage of William Trammell and Elizabeth Baugh: Many of us have spent the greatest portion of our lives researching this family of Trammells. My own lineage comes from Thomas and Susan Trammell in Chambers County, Alabama through their son, Wiley Trammell who also married a Baugh, Barbary Baugh. That is the reason for our own chase. We have no proof other than they lived next door to Thomas and Susan when they were in Chambers County, AL. Some researchers of my line think Moses Baugh is the ancestor but I think he was born too late to be the one. My personal guess is Daniel Baugh, but again, no proof. There are countless connections in our family to the Baughs. I was born a Trammell and so that was the surname I researched the most and the longest to start with. Our lines started in this country in Truro Parish, Fairfax County, Virginia. The area around Falls Church, Virginia is rich in Trammell history. The ones who left went on to Hillsborough, North Carolina and were there during the Revolution. Others moved on to South Carolina and Lincoln County, Georgia. After the War of 1812 they started using their land lotteries and moving into Alabama, Chambers being one of the counties. Later some went on to Floyd County, Georgia and then to Texas and points West. My great-grandfather was born in Chambers County, AL and his parents were married in Lincoln County, GA. which caused all of us to spend a great deal of time researching those two areas. Nothing else has come to light that is new in many years. I do hope someone will finally part with a shred of info or a document to help the cause someday. Otherwise we can work both sides of the timeline but we will still get stuck in Georgia and Alabama as far as documentation goes. There are many who are better researchers than me and they can't say for sure on very much either. Just do the best you can and pray like the rest of us for a break. I have in my file Daisy Agnes "Aggie" Trammell as being born 18 May 1878 in Floyd County, Georgia. She died 1 May 1918. She married George Lee Trammell on 27 Dec 1896 in Floyd County, Georgia. I only have one child of this union listed and she was Mary Emma Trammell born 7 Nov 1905 in Floyd County, Georgia. Daisy was the daughter of William Henry Clay Trammell and Mary E. McGinnis who married 31 May 1861 in Floyd County, GA. William H.C. was born Aug 1844 in Georgia and died 25 Aug 1916 in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia and was buried at Oakland Cemetery. Mary was born 1846 in Georgia and died after 1920. They had at least nine children: Mattie M., Eddie, Joseph Harper, Alice, Daisy Agnes, Lucy, Frank Stanton, Eunice, and William H. Trammell. William Henry Clay Trammell was the son of William Trammell and Elizabeth Baugh. William Trammell born 1804 Lincoln County, GA was the son of William Trammell born 1764 Fairfax County, VA. and his mother is not yet known. William Trammell born 1764 Fairfax County, VA was the son of Thomas Trammell born 1710 Stafford County, VA who died in Wilkes County, GA and Elizabeth Sebastian. Thomas Trammell born 1710 Stafford County, Va was the son of John Trammell born 1677 Stafford County, VA who died in Falls Church, Virginia and Mary Gerrard Hutt. John Trammell born 1677 Stafford County, Va was the son of Thomas Trammell born 1650 Devonshire, England and Mary Alice Williams. Will keep looking but this was all I had on them in a quick check. Hope it was helpful. Barbara Trammell Black Athens, Texas ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
