The first married record that I can find in the census is 1850. They are both listed with the following children: Thomas - 16 Frances = 14 Marion - 12 Lafayett - 12 Jasper = 8 Wilks = 5 Isaac - 1 On the 1860 census, I cannot find Richard, but I do find Matilda with another Richard (who is listed as 29) being the head of household. It seems that the 1860 census is tricky (and maybe someone can clarify) because Richard, Matilda, Marion and Lafayett are in another district on the census) and on the next page of the census, which starts a new district, the following are listed: Francis = 20 Jasper - 18 Newton - 16 Wilkes - 12 Moragne = 11 Reuben - 8 George - 7 Again, on the 1870 census, Richard is not listed, but Matilda is listed with these children: Wilkes - 21 Mariah - 18 George = 13 Frances =- 28 Can anyone clarify that these are the same people (even though some of the ages just don't match up)? I'm specifically researching the line of Morange Goldman and I'm hoping that if the census records can be clarified, then I can determine that he is my gg grandfather. Also, were Marion and Lafayett twins? Any help is appreciated. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Patsy, Ellis Lott married Abigale Carpenter Apr 24 1817 recorded May 14 1817. I cannot give you a copy of the marriage as I transcribed these from the microfilm purchased from the State. If the county does not have the original then you will have to order it from the State. In February 1873 William and his wife Sadie IV(E)Y were in Poughkeepsie, NY having my grandfather James Jefferson EVANS. Then in 1875 his sister Lucy. William is listed in the 1880 census living in Dekalb County, GA as a widower with a son Jeffie. I have a copy of a letter written in June 1880 from William to the mother of his 2nd wife. In the letter he talked about how Jeffie and Lucy loved Anna like their own mother. How hard it was for them losing her. He had sent Lucy to live with his father (and she is in the 1880 census with her grandparents). He couldn't keep Jimmie so he was sending him by train to West Point, GA (Harris County) for her to take care of. He was keeping Jeffie with him. He did send Jeffie to live with Jimmie and his grandparents - never saw either of his boys again. My problem is where did William find and marry Sadie? However in the 1880 census by Jeffie (with his father) and Lucy's (with her grandfather) name they had the state mother was born in as GA. So that still leaves where did William meet Sadie? Now the next piece to the puzzle - according to my mother her father told them his mother was Cherokee. I've always been told that Jeff had red hair and blue eyes - I never met him as he died before I was born. My mom was the next to the youngest of 13 children. All 5 boys had reddish hair and all 8 girls brown to black hair. I've been to the IV(E)Y lists and now I'm starting with the places in GA I know William lived. Hello Patti. At the request of Billie Jones I am forwarding this message to you and the list. Charlotte Patti Martin wrote: > My husband has a number of Lincoln Co. families: HAWES, MOSELY/MOSELEY, > TRAYLOR & ROBERTSON (of McCormick & Edgefield SC also) Would you please get in touch with me at tjones@camden.net I have discovered a possible Robertson in my line, and would like to compare. All of my mother's paternal ancestors were in the old Ninety Six, and later Edgefield Dist, most before the 1790 census. But my Robertson female was born ca 1820 and died before 1850. She was possible Harriett Robertson, 1st wife of Ewell/Uel/Newell/Earl Coursey, depending on what record you use. I found her name on the Death Cert. of a daughter who died in Augusta, Richmond Co, GA. Parents never lived in GA, as her father was in SC as head of a hh 1840 - 1860. with a new wife in 1850 and more children. I am at a very high stone wall, and until I can get to the SC State Archives to look up every Robertson, Robinson, Roberson, etc male who left a probate record to see if I can find one who left anything to the children of their deceased daughter Harriett Coursey, I am really stuck. Any possible help would be appreciated. Billie Jones Camden, SC tjones@camden.net

Thanks for bringing the info about Jared Trammell to the attention of the list. I am not aware of a connection of him to my line but we all collect scraps along the way which later become meaningful. I won't turn it down for that very reason. Thanks for sharing the who, what, where and when. Barbara ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
4-30-07 I subscribe to the Lincoln County Site for my husband's Crawford family line and read about the Trammel/Baugh connections. I have recently been researching my Beaty family line in Laurens County GA and ran across some Superior Court minutes describing an abstract of the minutes which involved a Jared Trammel on 10/16/1816. I have no idea if Jared Trammel is connected to your line, but I am always looking for someone to come along with a needle in the haystack for me, so I tend to share off beat connections just in case it might be helpful to someone else. Dear Barbara Trammell Black, Thank you very much for your response to my questions! I know exactly what you mean about spending most of your life researching these elusive ancestors -- I've been at it since 1969, when we were stationed in Georgia with the Air Force. The Mary Emma that you mentioned (daughter of Agnes and George Lee) was my mother-in-law. I have quite a bit of information on the Trammells in Floyd Co. GA, which pretty much matches what you sent, and I'd be delighted to share whatever I have . Your info about Wm H. C. Trammell's ancestral line is all new to me. Would love to have more details.
