Author: mdbosco Surnames: Glaze, Gresham, Parks Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.georgia.counties.lincoln/1211/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello I am seeking info on my g-grandmother, Susan Glaze (b.1863 - d.1895-1900) oldest child (of 12) of Houston Glaze (1828-1898) & Mary Jane Parks Glaze (1843-1921), married John Kauffman Gresham somewhere around 1880-1881, and had 3 sons (George Houston, Fred Parks, & Otis Quinn). Susan Glaze Gresham had an unmarried sister who survived until approximately 1969, Lavina Glaze. I believe Lavina remained in Lincoln County her entire life. I would also like to get parents/grandparents confirmed (with dates) for Houston Glaze & Mary Jane Parks Glaze (above), and for John Kauffman Gresham. The info I have on John K. Gresham (1854-1907) is even more brief. Possible parents: George Gresham & Nancy S. Gresham. If those are the correct parents, then he had 5 brothers (Rufus, William, Edward, Benjamin, & George) and one sister (Lucy Ann). I know John moved Susan & their sons to Texas in the late 1880s or early 1890s, but by the 1900 Census the sons had been sent back to Lincoln County to live with relatives (but no mention of Susan) while John remained in TX and worked as a laborer, living as a boarder. He is classified as "single" on the 1900 Census. I have been unable to locate any 1890 Census records -- wasn't there one done that year? Do I have any Glaze or Gresham relatives in the Lincoln or Wilkes County areas? Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction! Does anyone have any documents or additional information on this family? Gideon Anderson b. abt 1737 Hanover Co., Va d. 1802 Wilkes Co. Polly Ann Anderson b. 1771(Is this the same as Patsy Ann married Mr. Cooper?) 7. Agnes Anderson b. 1775 8. Charles Anderson b. 1777 Wilkes Co. GA d. aft 1850 married *Margaret Arnett* 9. Susannah Anderson b. 1779 Wilkes Co. GA married Mr. Butler 10. James Martin Anderson b. 1782 GA d. Feb 8, 1866 married nancy Martin and Elizabeth Short /Margaret Arnett is sister of William,Edward, & Samuel Nancy Arnett is another sister of the same.. Both mentioned in the Will of John Querns ... along with William, Edward, and Samuel.. as his nephews and nieces./ I do not know why John Querns lists these ... except that it is possible that Catherine Querns married Edward Arnett. But, that would not make William, Edward, and Samuel his nephews unless the Arnett boys were children of Catherine Querns Arnett. Or, John Querns had a sister that married the father of William, Edward, and Samuel. (unknown Arnett) This lineage of Arnett is said to be from Maryland, but is not fully traced, or documented To Maryland, but includes the descendant John Querns Arnett, and Mary Ann Arnett-Dallis-Cullars, and Glaze and Ashmore /*genealogy of Lincoln and Wilkes County Georgia.*/ This lineage of Arnett may be connected in some way to Daniel & Salley Montgomery Arnett. These Andersons knew the Colemans, Martins, and possibly the Spears. John Spears is half-brother of John Querns. John Spears sister is Ann Spears Arnett. John and Ann are found later in Alabama. The Feasters of the Will of John Querns Arnett are from Union Co, SC. "Feasterville" -- The Spears come from SC -- And appears the Colemans, and Martins Also came from nearby counties to Georgia from SC. The Feasters go way back to early Maryland. The Mayfields are also traced back to early Maryland. ~Walter L. Cullars --- Antivirus: Outbound message clean. According to the book "Lincoln County Cemeteries" by Betty Sue Dunaway Bunch and Larry Butler Benjamin Franklin Bentley is buried in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. His wife, Gladys Bennett Bentley is buried at Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery. I have her obituary if you want it. Found Anderson M. Crawford in the 1870 Census for Columbia County as follows...so I would assume that Anderson W. is the father of Anderson M. Name Age Anderson W Crawford 50 Antonia L Crawford 34 Patsey M Crawford 17 William H C Crawford 15 Simeon N Crawford 14 Pamilla Crawford 10 Anderson M Crawford 8 Rebecca A Crawford 5 Peter A Crawford 4 Basil D Crawford 2 Elmyra E Crawford 21 Simmion Crawford 74 Mary McKinnie 15 Found 4 individuals with the first name of Mozella in the 1880 Census from Brooks, Jefferson, and Worth Counties and one born in Georgia but living in North Carolina. As for Bert H Crawford, he appears to be in the home of Anderson and Suzy Crawford in the 1920 Census for Columbia County.? Would you know if Suzy was the nickname for Mozella?? Looks like Bert may be the son of Anderson M Crawford...but just a guess at this point.? His name in the Census is listed as Birtha (could be a nickname). Hope this helps.. -----Original Message----- From: Sue and Richard Marsh <acr00119@mindspring.com> To: GALINCOL-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Wed, 24 Sep 2008 10:26 pm Subject: [GALINCOL] Crawford Can someone give me further information on the following?
