My grandmother was born in Hladki, a little villiage about 10 miles northwest of what is now Ternopil, Ukraine. Before she passed away in 1993, she told my two sisters that her uncle was a bishop who was put to death by the Nazis. She also said she was Roman Catholic. I know my grandmother's maiden name (Winnicki) and her mother's maiden name (Halian). I thought finding the names of bishops murdered by the Nazis would be possible, but so far I have found nothing.
