George V Hilburn [email protected] Dublin Post, April 28, 1886: Died, Mr. Ira E Hilbun, whom we reported in our last issue, as being in a critical condition, died at the residence of his grandfather, Vaughn Hilbun, in this county on Thursday morning at 1 a.m. Ira was a young man of sterling qualities, and worthy of the confidence bestowed upon him by the people. His motto was upward and onward dealing out justice to all. He leaves a wife, one child, and a host of relatives and friends to deplore his death. Dublin Post, same date: Mr. B.H. Blackshear has been appointed county surveyor by the Ordinary to fill the vacancy occasioned by the death of Mr. Ira E. Hilbun. Dublin Post, June 23, 1884: Mr. Ira E. Hilbun has charge of a fine school of forty-two pupils at Pleasant Springs Church.
