I found him in the 1900 Laurens Co., Hampton Milo District census listed with his mother Edith and her parents as her brother. He was said to be raised by his single mother Edith. His grandparents are listed as his parents John E. and Francis McCrackin. I would like more info on his mother and grandparents.
