"Sary" SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1801 GA) m. bef. 1840 prob. Laurens Co, GA to Henry JEWELL (b. ca. 1800 SC), said to be son of Moses JEWELL of Barnwell Dist, SC. One ch: Elizabeth JEWELL (b. ca. 1840 GA) m. ca. 1858 John HULEN (b. ca. 1829 GA), two ch: Julia Ann HULEN (b. 1860, prob. Irwin Co, GA) and William HULEN (b. ca. 1862, prob. Irwin Co, GA). Moses JOINER, age 3, b. GA, is present in Henry & Sary's 1860 Irwin Co, GA, household. Nancy SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1809 GA) m. ca. 1831 John COLEMAN (ca. 1796 SC - bef 1870 GA?). Two ch: Alexander COLEMAN (b. ca. 1833 GA) and P. L. COLEMAN (b. ca. 1835 GA). John COLEMAN heads a household on the 1850 census of Laurens Co, GA, and Nancy appears to be a widow in the household of her brother-in-law Henry JEWELL on the 1880 census of Coffee Co, GA. Nancy perhaps had a granddaughter named Mahaley COLEMAN, who appears, age 15, in the same 1880 household. David SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1815 GA) m1. ca. 1834 Rachel UNKNOWN (b. ca. 1813 GA). Five ch: Lucinda SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1835 - may be the Kesiah or Kejiah who m. bef. 1870 to unknown CROSBY); Thomas D. SIZEMORE (ca. 1837 GA-1863 Shelby Springs, AL CSA); William Crawford SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1839, served in CSA), m. ca. 1856 Nancy UNKNOWN (b. ca. 1834 GA); Delila SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1843 GA - may be the Delita SIZEMORE who m. 25 NOV 1857 to Benjamin DAVIS, or perhaps m. unknown BUTLER); and Andrew J. "Andy" SIZEMORE (ca. 1849 GA-1890 Coffee Co, GA - killed in a sawmill accident), m. 27 FEB 1870 to Mrs. L. Margaret (TUCKER) SMITH (b. ca. 1850 GA), daughter of Benjamin & Martha Ann (RHODES) TUCKER. Margaret had m. OCT 1865 to William (or Ben?) SMITH, who was killed in a sawmill accident OCT 1867, leaving at least one son, Ben SMITH (Jr?). Margaret had sisters Mahala TUCKER (lived in Tifton, Tift Co, GA, and worked at the cotton gin there) and Rhoda Jane TUCKER. Margaret applied in NOV 1! 912 as a resident of Coffee Co, GA, for a Civil War pension on her first husband's service, and the facts were attested to by his brother, David SMITH in Coffee Co. William C. & Nancy (UNKNOWN) SIZEMORE, in Bryan Co, GA in 1860, were the parents of Jane SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1858 GA) and Rachel SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1863 GA). Nancy is evidently a widow in the household of Kesiah/Kejiah CROSBY on the 1870 census of Bryan Co, GA. Andrew J. "Andy" & L. Margaret (TUCKER) SIZEMORE, in Irwin Co, GA in 1870, were the parents of four ch: Rachel SIZEMORE (1871-1967, buried at Douglas, Coffee Co, GA), who m. 1886 to Dr. William H. VICKERS (b. 1864), son of Henry & Ella (SEARS) VICKERS; Janie SIZEMORE (1874-1958, buried at Douglas, Coffee Co, GA), m. Henry McKINNON; Thomas SIZEMORE; and George W. SIZEMORE (b. AUG 1880), who m1. Lizzie UNKNOWN and perhaps m2. to Mattie MORRIS. It is said that George lived at Nashville, Barrien Co, GA, and had at least two children: female SIZEMORE and Ancil SIZEMORE. David SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1815) m2. 30 JUL 1868 Irwin Co, GA to Margaret (MERRITT) PURVIS. Margaret had m1. 1858 in Irwin Co, GA to John PURVIS (d. 1863), by whom she had two sons: Frederick PURVIS (b. ca. 1861 Irwin Co? GA) and Jordan or John PURVIS (b. ca. 1863 Irwin Co? GA). David and Margaret had two children: James Henry SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1869 GA), who m. Mehala TUCKER (b. ca. 1861), dau. of Solomon & Elizabeth (GRANTHAM) TUCKER; and Margaret SIZEMORE (b. ca. 1871 GA). Daivd SIZEMORE heads a household on the 1850 census of Emanuel Co, GA, the 1870 census of Irwin Co, GA, and the 1880 census of Lowndes Co, GA. He may be the David SIZEMORE who filed a pension application for service in the Seminole War (1835-46), and/or who received land grants in Laurens Co, GA (1846) and Emanuel Co, GA (1851). Sary A. (SIZEMORE) JEWELL, Nancy (SIZEMORE) COLEMAN, and David SIZEMORE may all be children of Sarah A. (UNKNOWN) SIZEMORE who heads a household on the 1840 census of Laurens Co, GA, appears as Mrs. SIZEMORE, age 75, b. GA, on the 1850 census of Laurens Co, GA, and/or appears as Sarah A. SIZEMORE, age 106, b. NC, on the 1860 census of Irwin Co, GA. Also, who is Andrew Jackson SIZEMORE who m. Melissa Josephine PERRITT (or MERRITT?), b. 1863, dau. of Josiah & Margaret (STRICKLAND) PERRITT? Any information on the above or related families would be appreciated.
