Surnames: PITTMAN, PITMAN, COUNCIL, COUNSEL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Zc.2ADI/1463 Message Board Post: My ggg grandfather, Elbert Pitman/Pittman, married Nancy Council/Counsel in Laurens County in 1811. They lived in the western part of the county on the Pulaski County line until around 1833 when they moved to Sumter County (Americus). I have been unable to find out who Elbert's father and mother were OR who Nancy's parents were. There were many Council/Counsel families in the county then but I don't know the exact family she came from. If anyone has information on any Pittman/Pitman or Council/Counsel families in the period 1785-1833 I would appreciate you contacting me. Thanks, Charles Pittman
