Hi Darleen, Thank you for the nice response and the information about George W. Smith. I have him as the youngest child of Colby and Rebecca and born in Burke County in 1798. That could be significant as Burke is one of the original Georgia counties and is immediately north of Washington. If you are located in central Georgia you probably already know this so please forgive me. However, you may want to remember to look in that direction, also. I must call your attention to the fact that all of the Colby Smith children, except George, were born in Chatham Co., NC. Isaac was the last child born there and that was on Oct 14, 1796. By the way, I show both Isaac and George as Reverends. It would seem that Colby and Rebecca moved from Chatham Co., NC to Georgia (Burke Co.) between 1796 and 1798. I may possibly have additional information in my paper files but have not been an active researcher in several years. Am becoming quite old but still in good health. I supported the Colby Smith memorial and have visited it twice on trips from my home in Maryland to my birthplace in Jacksonville, FL. I purchased four bricks. One each for my grandmother Martha Jane New (daughter of Martha Elizabeth Wood), Harry E. Belflower, Sr.,my (father), myself and my late granddaughter, Jaclyn Marie Belflower. If you ever visit the memorial you may step on my name if you so desire. I checked my database but could find none of the Wood people that you mentioned but I would suspect that there is a connection. I do possess additional Wood genealogical dat that I have never entered because it was rather voluminous and not my direct line. Would have taken a lot of my time. Perhaps, I should review that. I am sorry that I could be of more assistance. Harry Belflower
