RE: Scarborough/Smith families I have in hand, a copy of a letter written 27 March 1947 to Lillie Mae Scarborough, a descendant of Matthew Judson Scarborough 1856-1932, eldest son of Samuel Franklin Scarborough Sr., and his wife Martha Smith. The letter is via my great grandmother, Emma Victoria Scarborough 1859-1952 of Cadwell, Laurens Co., GA to Lillie Mae. In this letter she states that Samuel Franklin Scarborough, her father, died in the Civil War, had at least one brother, Parryn (her spelling) Scarborough and a sister, Laura, who married a Roberson/first name not given. There is additional data in this letter regarding Martha Smith - for instance she writes that "Our mother had two brothers and three sisters. Names brothers as Alfred and Lewis Smith and sisters as Dorenda, Lucendia, and Mary Smith. Dorenda married a Pierce. Lucendia maried a Schewing. Mary died a young girl." I received a copy of the above letter from my cousin, Wade Eubanks, a descendant of Matthew Judson Scarborough. (His mother was Lillie Mae Scarborough 1899-1980 who married Ernest F. Eubanks.) If any of this connects to your William Perrien Scarborough, please let me know. Frances Daniell Hough/SC
