It has been awhile since we put our Laurens County connection to the list. Vaughan HILBUN (1806-1891) and Eliza Ann MCLEMORE (1812-1893) met in Emanuel County while Vaughan HILBUN was working on a stage line out of Milledgeville, Baldwin County. They married in Emanuel County in 1832 while having it registered in Montgomery County. They moved to Laurens County where they stayed until they died. Their children and spouses are as follows: 1. Andrew Jackson HILBUN (1833-1916), spouses were Mary Catherine CARTER (1837-1862), Lourania M ODOM (1835-1870), and Nancy M BRANTLEY (1834-1908) 2. Sarah Ann HILBUN (1835?-1913?) who married Lucian THIGPEN (1834?-????) 3. Mary HILBUN (1839-1874) who married Daniel THIGPEN (1821-????) 4. Ira H HILBUN (1843-1923) who married Arphelia E ODOM (1849-1884) 5. Matison V HILBUN (1849-1923?) who married Artrinity V ODOM (1855-????) 6. Eliza HILBUN (1849-1897) who married James W Maddox (1840?-1885?) I have seen Ada and Lugenia added, probably because of the 1880 census; but they were actually grandchildren being two of the children of Andrew Jackson HILBUN and Mary Catherine CARTER.
