    1. [[GALAUREN]] Re: HARRELL ; Jesse Tilman Harrell < Joseph < William
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Harrell, Denby, Willis, Stanley, Belflower Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Zc.2ADI/1471.1.1 Message Board Post: My father was Donald Renfroe HARRELL , born in Tifton, 1920 My mother is a living BELFLOWER (maiden name) , born in Tifton , 1931 My fathers parents were Jesse Tilman HARRELL married to (Lucy) Elizabeth DENBY Jesse was born in Tifton area? in 1896 Elizabeth was born in Tifton area? in 1900 My mothers parents were Ernest Belflower and Cora Stanley don't have my notes handy.....but they were separated or divorced all the years I remember My granfathers parents were (we believe) Joseph HARRELL and Kansas WILLIS Family believes Joseph was born about 1862 (I'm not sure why they believe this) and died 1906. I can't yet find ANY record of his existance, but Kansas' name is documented in the well known Willis lineage. At the end of it with no statement of her marrying or having children. Joseph, as legend has it, lost his mother at childbirth and was raised by a school teacher, Letha (Leatha) Lindsey. I haven't found her documented either. My brother seems to have been told of brothers and sisters of Joseph such that he thinks he has found evidence of Joseph's father being William Harrell in the Berrein County Census of 1860. 2 years before we think Joseph was born, so once again, I frustrated in PROVING any of this. This William Harrell would have been at a reasonable age to have had a son of Joseph's generation, but back then there were a lot of William and Joseph Harrell's. This particular William was married to what appears to me to be "Flora Ann" Harrell. My grandmother's parents were Thomas R. Denby and Zona Willis, I believe. They are buried in Oak Grove Baptist Church cemetary between Tifton and Omega, GA. The Denby's were supporters of that church and they are recorded in it's history. I'm told that some of my grandfather's brother's and sisters are buried there, but there are no markers to prove it. Best Regards, Tim Harrell
