There were five brothers, children of Joseph Darsey and they all fought in the Revolutionary War. James settled in Buckhorn, Laurens County, Ga., William settled in Washington and later Laurens County, Ga., Joseph settled in Columbia County, Ga., Benjamin settled in Jefferson County, Ga. and later came to Laurens County, and the youngest son, Joel, settled in Decatur County, Ga. Benjamin was in the first grandjury after the founding of Laurens County, He died in 1829.
