Surnames: GARNTO Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Zc.2ADI/1428 Message Board Post: One of the families that CINDY refers to in the 1900 census appears to be my great-grandfather's: William D. Garnto was married to Richard Florence May and they lived on a farm located on what is now the 319 Hwy between Dublin and Wrightsville, GA. Their farm was just inside the Laurens County line, but they attended the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a couple of miles up Hwy 319 in Johnson County, GA. They are buried in the church cemetery there and so are many of their children and relatives. William D. Garnto was the son of Benjamin Garnto and Jane Stokes. Benjamin died during the Civil War. Their children were: 1) Virginia May Garnto (My Great Aunt Ninnie). She married a Holland and had one son: Quillian. 2) Catherine Arrie Bell (My Great Aunt Bell) She never married. Stayed with her father and took care of him. Later stayed with various relatives. 3) Sarah Thomas Garnto (My grandmother - "Sallie") She married a Holland and had 5 children: Azilene, Annie Edison, and the twins: Willis and Ellis. 4) Rosa Garnto - Married a Harrison and had one daughter: Rosa Pearl. 5) William D. Garnto - had several boys - 6) Dollie Stella Garnto - married a Hammockand had three children: James, Agnes, and Iris. 7) Nina - married a Walker
