Dean. Henry Bayly to give new bond with Edwasrd (sic) St. George as security. *NOTE: I have replicated the varied spelling in the document. • I surmise that William E. Dean had his children during his first marriage as reflected in the way that the children receive guardianship. His first wife was Katy Fordham m. 1806 in Laurens County, GA, according to family records on worldconnect.com. William E. Dean married Susan Albritton in 1816. She did not become guardian for the children. I believe that the Susan Dean who married John Brown in 1820 is William E. Dean’s widow Susannah Albritton Dean. • A William Dean sold property to William E. Deen in Lenoir County, NC. Also see the census documents, land deeds, and wills from Dobbs/Lenoir, Co, NC: a James Standley / Stanley and Henry Bailey, who became William E. Dean’s children’s guardians, appear on various of those documents as does a William Dean, John Brown, and an Issac Brown, the later who bought land from William E. Dean in Lenoir County, NC, 1811, the year before William E. appears in Laurens Co, GA. • I included the following marriage record in hopes that it will shed light on the various relationships of theses Deans to my Richard Dean. - Lenoir County, NC - Marriages from Lenoir Bible Records File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Cristine Grimes Thacker who contributed those records not listed with the other contributors -- Isaac Brown Bible Contributed by Martha Marble Isaac Brown and Mary Dean were married Sept. the 21st day, 1796 Isaac Brown and Lucy Small were married the 31st May 1820 Isaac Brown and the widow Nancy Taylor were married the --- of --- 182- NOTES: These notes are at the bottom of the page. I caution the researcher regarding their use due to new information found in 1998, donated to LCC and abstracted by Russell King. Among those papers is found the will of Philpenah Miller Noble Kinsey who was the widow of Philemon who died in 1782. She married second Joseph Kinsey. She clearly states in her will that her former husband was Philemon. The will of Joseph Kinsey is also found in these papers and one page of a Noble Bible "Benjamin Brown was the son of Howell Brown of Virginia. Benjamin Brown married his wife Ruth Langston in Virginia before moving to NC. After his death his widow Ruth Brown married William ? Dortch and moved to Georgia taking all the Brown and Dortch children except the eldest son Isaac Brown and he stayed here because by the English law he inherited the estate." Mr. Joseph Kinsey, LaGrange, NC wrote Jan. 2, 1908 "Grandmother Brown's mother was named Catherine Miller sister of Phillip Miller also daughter of Phillip Miller ie Uncle Ike's and my mother's grandmother was Catherine Miller. Further Mary Kinsey my grand father Kinsey's sister married Richard Nobles whose mother was Peny (long e) Nobles wife of John Nobles (some think Philemon instead of John) and sister of Phillip Miller. Also Uncle Ike's father (Note - there is a note in the Bible records that Uncle Ike was the Isaac Brown born in 1828), my grandfather first married a Dean whose mother was Phillip Miller's sister. His last wife who was a widow was the daughter of Catherine Miller (as above). So you see two of his wives were cousins and daughters of Phillips Miller's sisters. Greatgrandfather Kinsey in his old age married the widow of John Nobles and she was as above said the sister of Phillip Miller. My grandfather Isaac Brown was a son of Benjmain Brown. He being the oldest inherited the land at his father's death and his brothers moved to Georgia." Dean of Jones Co., NC late 1700's by Sharon Hightower Bradley of 6614 Thought I would post this info from the Fordham I connected with. Have more. Would love to have your info on the Dean's. Benjamin Fordham, III was the ninth child and second son of Benjamin Fordham, Jr. and his wife, Mary Blackshear. Benjamin III was born May 10, 1784 in New Bern, North Carolina and died on March 19, 1864. He married Elsie Miller on February 17, 1805, in Jones or Craven County, North Carolina. *Benjamin Fordham, III and his wife, Elsie Miller brought with them to Georgia in 1812, the family Bible that belonged to his parents Benjamin Fordham, II and his wife, Mary Blackshear. It listed the names of twelve children, who were the brothers and sisters of Benjamin Fordham III. There is a tradition in the family that this Benjamin crossed the Oconee River on his way to settle in Georgia on January 12, 1811 along with families of Stanley and Blackshears, all from Jones County, North Carolina. He crossed at a point two miles below the mouth of Big Sandy Creek known as Green's Ferry, but which has long since been discontinued. Benjamin Fordham, III settled in Wilkinson County near where he crossed the river and near the Laurens County line, at old Evergreen School house. He attended the Christ Church. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Fordham, I(Sr.) and his wife, Martha LaPierre. Benjamin Fordham, III, and his wife Elsie Miller had fourteen children. * From the book, "The Fordhams and Related Families" by Jane Whitaker Fordham, Jenette Fordham Kelley and Yvonne Fordham Burnsed.
