Terri, I'd like to ask you a question about Charles P. Creech. I have in my files a Charles P. Creech, born about 1790, place unknown who reportedly married Martha Robinson, born 1792 in either S.C. or Laurens Co., Ga. Martha was the daughter of James Robinson, R.S. of S.C. and his wife Sarah. I found your Charles and Elizabeth "Betsey" listed in the 1850 census report for Laurens Co. and felt that perhaps Elizabeth was a second wife of Charles. Beyond this pitiful little bit of information, the only other item I have found is in 1841 Robert Robinson (brother of the above Martha Robinson Creech) sold land lot #97 in Laurens Co. to Charles P. Creech for $10.00 (I believe that was the price). Robert Robinson of Laurens Co. was my ggg Grandfather. Do you have any idea at all if your Charles P. Creech was married before he married Elizabeth Hutchins? In response to your question - the first place I would stop in Dublin is the Dublin Historical Society. I've only been fortunate enough to make the trip one time and that was in the beginning stages of my research. I wish with all my heart I had been aware of even half the information I now have regarding my ancestors in that area of Georgia. I was only blocks away from a cemetery that held my 4th and 5th great grandparents. The folks at the Historical society are just wonderful. Trudy Lord in particular is a remarkable lady. The library will have the new books listing marriages from the 1700's into the 1900's and probably much, much more helpful information. I didn't make it there when I visited - my trip was entirely too short. Wishing you the best of luck and a successful trip. Carolyn
