Next time I go to Georgia, I will look it up and take pictures of all the stones. Unfortunately, don't know when that will be because I just came back from a week there yesterday.

The cemetery is 300 yds behind a house. None of the names you mentioned are in the Laurens County Cemetery Records Book. Of course back then some of the graves were not marked, just maybe a stone. Dodge County is located below Laurens and is not far from Dexter. Try the Dodge County Board.

I have looked for the past 2 years and couldn't find anything and, here you go, finding it the first day I tell you. I don't think Lottie is a nickname, but, will ask Mom. I didn't get to call her today because we went to Albuquerque and got back too late. She goes to bed early. But, that sounds like the Lottie Mom told me about. And, D.K. Wall is most likely my great grandfather. I guess I can almost see why no one would tell me anything about my ancesters. But, I still don't understand why they wouldn't. I think it is because way back then, being in a sanitarium was taboo. The David Wall that has the wife, Rnity fits too. My grandmom was Susie Mae Wall before she married my grandpa, David Arthur Williams. And, she had a sister named Willie. I've never heard the name Unity. But, that could have been the Euntie I mentioned. Maybe they spelled it that way. My Mom's youngest sister is Euntie Jane, so, it could possibly have been really spelled Unity. Both the David Wall and David Walls are too much alike to be different people. At least, I would think so. I had some relatives that lived in Eastman, too. My Dad's brother, Edward May. He had so many wives and kids that I never knew any of their names, except, the youngest girl by his 12th or 13th marriage. He couldn't keep a wife, so it seems. And, personally, I can understand why! I knew him and he thought he was a ladies man all the way! My brother, Fred, lives in Maryland.(Cobb Island). I live in Moriarty, New Mexico now. I moved away from Georgia 4 years ago. I love it out here. The scenery is beautiful, especially when there's snow on the mountains. Thanks for helping me find some of my ancesters. It sorta makes me feel like I knew them. And, it gives me a connection to them that no one else has tried to do. I am so thankful that you came along to help. If you ever come out this way, I would really like to meet you in person! Moriarty is a very small town 35 miles east of Albuquerque. You could throw a rock from one side to the other!(just like some of those old southern georgia towns). thanks again, Mary(Suzi-my nickname)

I didn't call her yesterday because for some reason, my tummy decided to act up on me. I want to ask you a question? What is your maiden name? The reason I want to know is that I went to school with a Bernice Jones when I was attending school in Macon,Ga. 1956-1968. I can still picture how she looked and remember her voice! It's funny how our minds can recall things like that so many years later.I don't remember how many grades we were in together, but, I do remember 7th grade and she sat a few desks behind me in Mr. Thomas' class. One ancester I can't find anything on is Lottie Hobbs. She was my Mom's grandmother. I find a lot of that name, but, nothing seems to fit anything else I've found. I have to look back through my notes and see who she was married to. Mom said she was a full blooded Cherokee Indian. If I remember right, Mom said she was married to a J.D. Hobbs. I'll ask her again about these names today. Thanks for looking for these names for me. Do you live in Dexter?
I don't know who John's parents are, but this same family is found on the 1870 Laurens Co. census. Some of the children were listed with their middle name in 1860 and with their first name in 1870. The children are: Marion, Mandy, Elisabeth ( Sarah in 1870 ), Franklin ( John F. in 1870 ), Willis, Jasper, Lafayette ( Fayette in 1870, his full name is Andrew Lafayette ), Washington ( George in 1870 ) and Mary. Andrew Lafayette married Sarah Elizabeth Bracewell, daughter of John Charles Bracewell and Elizabeth Jane Robertson. Sarah is my great grandmother Ida Gertrude Bracewell's older sister. ----- Original Message ----- From: <jzuccarini@juno.com> To: <GALAUREN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 09, 2005 1:55 PM Subject: [[GALAUREN]] Wynn/Howell > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Wynn/Howell/Kingery/Wood/Haas/Anderson/Cox/Bland/Berry ect > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Zc.2ADI/1892 > > Message Board Post: > > Can any one help with this family? > 1860 Census Laurens Co., Georgia > Wynn John H.--38 > Elizabeth A.--34 > Marion--13 male > Mandy--11 female > Elizabeth--8 > Franklin--7 > Willis--5 > Jasper--4 > Lafayette--2 male > Washington--6 mo. > > > ==== GALAUREN Mailing List ==== > VISIT THE USGENWEB LAURENS COUNTY GEORGIA WEBSITE AT > HTTP://www.rootsweb.com/~galauren/ >

My Mom, Mary Gertrude(Williams) May-82 now, hasn't mentioned any of these, But, I will ask her about them and see if she knows the names. She did mention that my Grandpa had a brother, but, I don't remember the name. I live in Moriarty, New Mexico now and don't get back to Georgia but about once every year or so. I was born in Dexter, Georgia,March 24,1950. My Grandma Williams died a year before I was born, while Mom was expecting my brother Fred. From what I was told, I was born in the Alligood House, not far from where my Grandparents lived, that my aunt and uncle has lived . Their names are Alvin and Clarise Smith. Next to them is my uncle, Andrew Jackson Williams. He was my Grandma's by her first marriage, but, I don't know who his natural father was. I love the little town of Dexter. Besides being my birthplace, it still has an old country setting about it. Thank-you so much for your reply so fast, though. I will call Mom today and see if she remembers or knows any of the names you sent and will post again this evening or tonight.
