Also Jury List 1791, 1795 and 1805. There was a Micajah Cadwell and Samuel Cadwell during the same timeframe in the Laurens, Montgomery area. As so much of the 1820 Laurens County Ga census is unreadable and the ones before that are lost, I don't have an age for Micajah or Precilla. I would love to be able to place them in a family as I think that that might lead me to the Allen Cadwell that I'm searching for. This Allen Cadwell was born abt 1770(age could be wrong) in North Carolina and married a Cauley (Cooley, Cawley?) He had children born in Ga----Charlotte, Rebecca and Margaret, there probably were more. The dau Rebecca named a son Micajah and a dau Priscilla... So many of the people used their middle names that Allen could be the middle name rather than the first name, and so could the Micajah and Priscilla. While researching my Cadwell/Caddell/etc. family of Moore Co. NC I discovered the name of Micajah Cadwell in land records of Moore Co. NC. A James Cadwell was living in Cumberland Co. NC as early as 1767. The other names listed in the area in land and other records were as follows: John Cadwell, Jonathan Cadwell, William Cadwell, Daniel Cadwell, Benjamin Cadwell, James Cadwell Jr., Mary/Polly Cadwell who married John Melton Glasscock in Moore Co. NC. John Cadwell married Mary Keyes in 1785 in Moore Co. NC. He moved to Pend Dist. SC before 1800 and is listed in the 1800 census there. He is also mentioned in the will of Meshack Green, dated 1799. John Cadwell moved to Christian Co. KY before 1810, remained there for a number of years, living near Hopkinsville. By 1833 he moved to Pike Co. IL. Several of his children were married in Christian Co. KY and Pike Co. IL. I do not know when he died. Some of the Cad! wells/Caddells remained in the Moore Co. NC area. I descend from John Cadwell and Mary Keyes through their son, Moses Cadwell, b. 1796 in NC and d. in 1874 in Shelby Co. MO. Moses Cadwell married Mary Ann Kesterson, d/o George Kesterson and Letitia Baker who were originally from VA and moved to Green Co. TN about 1795. George was living in the Christian/Caldwell Co. KY area before 1806 when Mary Ann was born. I believe Micajah was a younger brother to John Cadwell. Micajah appears to be in Montgomery Co. GA as early as 1805/1806. Would like to hear from you. Don't you find it strange that Thomas and Hester don't have a son named Thomas? still strongly believe that he was married once before he married Hester and he had children from this marriage. Does anyone know who Tempy belongs to? The 1830 census has me totally confused Hester Lindsey is listed as head of household with two males and six females. The two males I believe are Benjamin and Ashley, however, the only females who should have been at home at this time are Winnie and maybe Jincy. Who were the other females? Where was Nancy in 1830? If she was living with her mother then there would have been four males instead of two. How do we know Thomas Lindsey died in 1818? Do you know if there is any documentaion? Huxford claims he died in the 1830's. Benjamin is my great grandfathers, father. (Elijah) I have a lot of information on this line. Are you an ancestor of Thomas and Hester Lindsey?

One of my Dent uncles was Campbell Merida Dent. He was born in 1840 in Jackson County, AL. He was the son of Joseph and Lucinda Dent, both born in GA. Joseph born between 1780-1790 and Lucinda born in 1793. This Dent family was in Jackson County at least by 1818. My problem with this family has been locating a place of birth in GA for Joseph and Lucinda. I have suspicions that they might have come from or come through Laurens County. Their son Campbell Merida, ended up marrying a woman named Leeta (or Letta) Bracewell. Her family was definitely from Laurens County. Also in doing the census checking I have found Dents in the county. In particular I have found a John Dent who was born about 1800 in GA. Anyone out there researching either the Bracewell or Dent families in this area? Any help or correspondence would be appreciated! Tempy for Temperance, maybe. Also a marriage for a Nazareth Allen to Nancy Peal, Jan 17 1833 in Laurens. A Nazra Allen diedin Laurens Cty before June 1836, when Benjamin Darsey applied for Letters of adm. on the estate of Nazra Allen. There is a Nazareth Allen on the 1840 Laurens Census with l male 10-15; l male 15-20; l male 40-50; l female 40-50. I wonder if this Nazarth Allen is connected to Polly Allen who married Cullen Peacock in Laurens in 1820. Cullen Peacock had a sister Edith that married Seth Darsey. Bernice

Lila Moore's husband, James Lemuel Keen II, was the son of James Lemuel Keen and Leona Jane Linder. This James Lemuel Keen was the son of Young Bright Keen and Malvina Todd. Young Bright Keen was the son of Young Keen and Lydia Dudley. This is not my direct line...I am a descendent of Young Keen through his son George Franklin Keen.
